Mechanical Knowlege after having my ninja for more then a year i learned how to properly perform some good stunts and learned riding basics. the problem is i have minimal car knowlege and no bike repair IQ. as far as ive gone is put a slip on exhaust on and replace my handlebars, lights and chain. instead of buying a user manual everytime i buy a used bike or paying a mechanic how can i gain some real knowlege of repairing and customizing sportbike? something else i want to find a decent magazine on the stands thatll show me some things but most of them out there are just chock full of ads and bullshit. suggestions guys? thank you! |
Re: Mechanical Knowlege you just gotta start doing shit. do the basic shit on your own - brakes, replacing cables etc etc etc but have friends help you with the big shit - motor swaps, clutches - shit like that when youre first starting. i had no knowledge of workin on bikes/cars when i first started doing wheelies and paid a shop to fix shit every time i broke stuff which got expensive so i just started doing shit on my own and askin friends for help. but it still sucks workin on bikes :banghead |
Re: Mechanical Knowlege Find a factory service manual, buy a decent set of tools, and start working on shit. You learn by doing, fucking it up, and fixing it again. |
Re: Mechanical Knowlege regardless of what you know or don't know, unless you know everything about a SPECIFIC BIKE, then you should get the manual for it :2cents:2cents |
Re: Mechanical Knowlege all that sounds reasonable enough. thanks guys |
