04 gsxr750 cluster/headlight cutting out.

i was riding home and out of no where my mph stopped working but everything else worked.i got home,shut it off.turned it back on and my whole cluster and headlight doesnt work except for the neutral light. i figured it was the harness,so i got a new one. and now everything works besides my engine temperature and mph. but the headlight,rpm and blinkers and all that works.i dont understand. has this happened to anyone else? any help would be appreciated.

yes or you can take it off. use the search (help and how to) to figure what to do with the wires so the bike runs without it
