how many times can you helicoil a motor? My head bolts striped out and I did it once. Now they came out, can I do it again or no?

As long as the heli-coil wall is thick enough, you can keep doing it.

You could try and find a heli-coil with a thicker wall, and it would remain the same size for the bolt, but it might be difficult to find one.

I don't think the bolt size should matter since you will only be going up in size.

Thanks guys I have never heard of a timesert, but I will check it out. I already did like 4 holes about a year ago, and come to find out the ones I didn't do are the ones that are bad. So I am just going to do the rest of the holes and call it a day. If they last another year I will be happy!!! Then it is Timesert time!!!! Or probally new bike time lol !!!

Hella Heli-coils. Did you know that heli coil are stronger than stock and are FAA approved? What I wonder is why you would have to do it twice. I think I may know what happened. If you hand drilled the clearance hole for the Coil, you may have made the clearance hole too big. Even if you have the right drill size when hand drilling or using a jacked drill bit it's very hard to keep the drilled hole the desired size.

Re: Heli-coils

Yeah they must be stronger cause like I said its the ones that I didn't do before that are bad now. When I first came across the problem I thought a heli coil came out but come to find out it was a stock hole. Went and got my self some brand new heli coils. So I will have something to do tomorrow!!!!
