Whoolie

"Lord help us when I learn tricks"

A little statement I made when I bought my first (and current) bike. Just thought that would make for an interesting factoid for my first post on Stuntlife. :cheers

Away from the :bs, and on to the post.:helmet

A couple days ago, I figured out how to get the front wheel off the ground on my '98 Yamaha YZF600. In first gear, I bring it up to about 7 grand (no clutch), let off then snap the throttle back. Full throttle. This gets me a wheelie about 2 inches off the ground for a few feet before the bike goes beyond redline.

When I get the front wheel up, should I try leaning back some or just try to pull on the wheelie bar? Or both? Basically, what should I do to get a higher wheelie and hold it longer?

:monkey:redneck I love these icons! :thumbs

go lower in the rev range more like 3500-5000 or start learning to slip the clutch:p

I have an 02 R6.It wheelies just fine with the roll of roll on meth. Just sit upright and stay on the gas.Be sure to cover the rear brake,it will come up fast. Be safe!!!

i would say that if you just move your butt back in the seat by a couple inches you will notice a huge difference.....at least i did...the balencing point changes extremely when you do that...also ive notived alot of people when they first start to whoolie is that when they go to whoolie they tend to lean forward....it seems to be a instinct type thing to do...if you avoid doing that it will help you out..

try those two things and i guarantee you will notice a diff :cheers

I am a clutch it person. You can get it up at lower RPMs and ride it out longer.
Otherwise, like mentioned above. sit back a little more and give it a quicker throttle twist. Pull on the bike until it starts coming up.
