450 antifreeze issue

So I got a 04 CRF 450R. I've been trying everything I can think of to stop my bike from pissing antifreeze. It will only leak when I sit and the bike is running. It recently started doing this maybe a month ago. Is my Radiator clogged? Do I have a faulty head gasket? Any body have any input?

Run a radiator fan maybe? If you are sitting still with the bike running the radiator is getting 0 air flow through it and is transfering small amounts of heat. Run a thermostatically switched fan on one of the radiators.

Yeah you cannot sit still. Mine always 'spits' when I stunt. NINER is correct your not going to get air thru it unless your moving or get a fan which will be a lot of money unless you run it from a mall battery that you can recharge. You have a couple options that make sence.
-Keep the bike moving or take frequent breaks, when mine heats up I take some 5th gear laps around the spot for a few minutes.
-You can buy those aluminum radiator hose adaptors (super cooler) you cut out a section of your hose and install these.

I'm puttin electric fans on my crr450 right now ,it always overheats in burnout combos :banghead The water pump seal goes out real easy on um to and spits water out the right side of the engine were the water pump housing is.

Where is it leaking from? If it were a head gasket you would know, nobody would be able to see behind you

Re: 450 antifreeze issue

You would know if your coolant was leaking anywhere other than your over flow...that is if you are fairly knowlegable.

Re: 450 antifreeze issue

It actually stopped leaking finally....I changed the fluid and was putting regular gas in it. Gotta be super...So It's no longer leaking antifreeze outta the overflow. Now I got a new problem, the engine is ticking! Will this ever stop!

Re: 450 antifreeze issue

Regular gas??? No wonder it was over heating probably pre-igniting and making engine run hotter.....I was also going to mention to make sure your radiator cap has the proper seal (boiling point of fluid is raised while it is properly pressurised) and also to run 50/50 coolant/water. 4 strokes will always make noises....when they get loud all the sudden you should be 'ware'

lol, yeah, but that thing will still over heat the worst part is it will give you no warning, at least with liquid cooled you will notice the leaking coolant.

Im sure any streetbike rad. fan will work.....but you gotta be able to power it which meens if you dont have a bike with a lighting coil you will need to buy one or use a remote rechargable battery....or strap a leaf blower to your front # plate.......:LOL
