Important question for a 5.7 ft & 135 lb guy !

Hello guys:
This is my first time on this forum and am truly exited to be a member of this community! A little about myself--I moved to the States in 2000 (I am from India) and rode many bikes back home! Most of em were 125-200 cc bikes. I wanted to know if its a good idea getting a GIXER 750 for some one like me who is 5.7 and 135 lbs. I rode the Honda and Suzuki back home for 14 yrs. The desert roads in Albuquerque are too tempting to drive in a car. I will be very glad if you guys can provide me with suggestions.

Regards

LeanGuru!!!

Get what you want, a 600 or 750 is fine if you have riden before, just don't ride over your head and wear safety gear, helmit, gloves, jacket etc.

Do it, Im 5'7" and 135 and my first bike was a gix1000. I could only touch the ground with one foot. When the bike is in motion it doesnt matter how big you are, if fact the lighter the better

5.7 ft & 135 lbs huh? Just don't drop the heavy girl, training wheels might help!!!

But seriously, as long as you are comfortable on the bike, sit on one and try to get a test ride.

Guys, Thank you for your posts!!! I know i m not heavy enough but riding the 200 cc bikes for # of years has taught me that its all about adjusting to the bike and adjusting to different techniques as far as getting on a powerful bike is concerned! But really though, what would be an ideal height and weight ratio for a 600 or a 750 Gixer!!

Hey L.G. dont sweat ! save all the weight you can...I remember in high school I was like 5' 11" / 135 and almost couldn't bench 50 pounds, the veins in my arms would totally bulge out...ok., now I'm 5' 10" and 168 #'s (Yeah I shrunk after back surgery) o.k., I'll just shut the hell up and say hello, dont worry about bein' thin man, I was only 135 in high school, yeah it sucked, but workin out helps and builds up your stuntability (is that a freakin word) just get somthin' you dig and keep praticin' I've been doing it for a year and half and can only do stoppies, wheelies, and really long burnouts, ANYfreakinWAY hello from another noob in Illinois !
