Who's on 07' Gixxer 1000's? Info?

Got a chance for the deal of a century on a 07 gixxer 1000 with 900 miles on it. Yellow & black. Fell over in a garage & broke a mirror & lever, big deal. Thing is bad ass. Anyone rockin' one of these? I don't know shit about the suzuki's

yeah that rain setting idea is good, turns the power right down and makes it alot more smoother aparently

Re: Who's on 07' Gixxer 1000's? Info?

and that is why I ask questions! Are the frames cracking under extreme stunting & crashing? Or just snappin when my fat ass lands a wheelie

Kevmo7 01-09-2008 10:53 PM

Re: Who's on 07' Gixxer 1000's? Info?

im sure it was a 750 aye, but yeah it was like people riding down the road and hittin a little bump and the whole thing would snap, but im sure its not the 1000

Re: Who's on 07' Gixxer 1000's? Info?

A kid at the lot I go to set his bike down from a wheelie and the frame snapped right at the welds. I think its all the 06/07 models that are weak like that.

Re: Who's on 07' Gixxer 1000's? Info?

Yes, it was the 06 and 07 frames on the 600's, 750's and 1000's that are prone to snapping at the neck where it's welded to the frame. Would probably make an ideal lot bike under slow conditions, but as far as faster shit goes, you could be looking at a possible break point on or around the neck.....

Re: Who's on 07' Gixxer 1000's? Info?

Google that and look at all the cases of those frames breaking. Pictures of the breaks clearly show the welds not penetrating the metal properly. Worst part is that many of the documented cases had riders traveling both wheels on the ground some moving as slow as 25mph.
