Who else has encountered this?

You ride.. your do your thing.. you stunt..

you meet someone who cant. they look up to you as if you were the most amazing thing on earth.

they want nothing more than to be your friend..

to learn from you.. EVERYTHING..

they begin to ride.. they start to stunt..

they learn 3 tricks and suddenly feel they are better than you..

they no longer want to be your friend..

instead they become too kewl to be your friend...

how irritating...

I love this sport...

the names change but its been this way for me since '99

i wanna hear it.. i know im not the only one to have had this expierence..

My mother always told me growing up, "no matter how good you get, always be humble." Some people don't know how to deal with it. The bragger to me wears the fact on their sleeve that he/she is overcompensating for momentarily overcoming their self-doubt. I think it's funny. These are the most insecure people. Be gentle to them, they're brittle.
My mother always told me growing up, "no matter how good you get, always be humble."
Now that is a good quote. You mom sounds like a great person.

Thing is, if people worry about helping others over helping themselves, this world would be an entirely different place. Everyone is worrying about how good they are stunting and aren't looking how bad they are as a person.

I have some boys that I am tight with. They need something and I give it to em. They rock out when I have no bike and I keep them company, besides the fact that stunting is dangerous and being alone in a dark lot at night isn't cool......

Look at someone like Schwartz. I only know him from the vids and reading countless comments on SL. HE comes off as a great guy. HE sounds like a great guy. Stunting ended for him and HE will still be a great guy. That is all that matters.

Anyone can be great at one thing, but suck at everything else.... That is not godly. Love your brother and sister and remain humble. People need to get back into church....

Well up here in Ottawa the sport is still pretty new so its only a few of us that are rockin it and its great..But after our recent visit to StuntFest I can say that some of the attitude dripping off some of the riders / groups were pathetic..You got circles ? So what...riding around with the "tude face" acting like you are king shiat ! I got no respect for that. Luckily we did manage to run into guys like Dan Jackson, Van, Big T, Schwartz and a few others who at least gave us a ray of hope.
My MEGA TUDE FACE award goes to some kid riding around with a Starboyz tshirt, blonde mohawk on a leopard skin gsxr..Man everytime he passed by we had a chuckle.
Buddy had the super mongloid look the entire day...I swear some of you stuntaz need to take a few lessons in smiling, interaction and just being down to earth..Not of all of ya...but some of ya..

Sorry for the venting..

I went through that crap over and over with skateboarding. -Been skating since 86 and I get some peeps that learn some trick that I don't do very often (cuz it's shit I was doin 10 years ago...) Suddenly they think they're the shit.. and get all weird and competitive about skating/or riding...

That's sad... That's when they quit enjoying the sport and start doin it just to compete/impress other dudes... And if you're doin something just to impress other dudes.... well... That's just gay, hahaha!

Re: Who else has encountered this?

what pisses me off is you stunt with someone who is better than you, when you finally catch up or pass their level of skill they stop coming out to the spot and returning your calls. I don't care about the competition I just want someone to stunt with.
That's when they quit enjoying the sport
that is the part of this thread that means something... if you aren't having fun, something's wrong!

and yes kane, and everyone else that agrees, there are always people like that... just have to learn to deal with it... and make sure you are at least still enjoying your time on that bike!

how about the buddy that rides because he wants attention, not because he loves to ride. only shows up to practice when there's an audience.

SmurfKilla 06-23-2005 12:23 PM

Re: Who else has encountered this?

Ha, this is a good one...or how about the guys that practice their ass off only when the camera is rolling...You get home and check the tape out and find out buddy has been stunting around the camera the entire phuckin day !!

I ride to impress myself mostly. Always trying to elevate my game to keep it challenging for me.

I taught this one ***** to pull a wheelie, who will remain nameless www.briangreen.com . Now just because he can park a twelve and pull highway wheelies he thinks he's the cat's ass.

Kane you need some friends. Come up to Canada Crazy Marten needs a roomate.
