BIG bore KiT - Fiddy no more style???'s

thinking of doing this for a little project.
Just curious if anyone has done this yet or has had any good or bad experiences with these kits.

Just curious of outcome; what to watch for, what to get or not to.

like I said it's just a thought for now!

Let me know what you think!

I got the 88cc kit from Two Bro, and I love it. It's not expnesive and after installation it started the 1st kick. The bike just Rips now. Everyone that rode mine wants to get a BIG BORE on theres. Get One! I'm not saying get this one shop around but I love the difference. Any further question on my kit hit me up.

what are you using for exhaust on your two bros 88 kit?:apimp

jaxon23 04-19-2003 10:47 AM

how does the big bore effect doing wheelies? i can pull mine up in 3rd no problem with pipe and filter....i use mine for strictly street and wheelies and don't want to mess up being able to wheelie it for blocks...but i can't stop tinkering with this thing..lol

uh
it takes some getting used to, it busted my ass a few times

it sucks bending your rear brake lever

I got my bore from honda mini trail too. When I got it they forgot to order the exhaust. What I did is take off the stock end cap and cut out the restrictor so its completely hollow. It works pretty damn good for a stock pipe, and it sounds like an aftermarket one.

Did any of you change your valve springs when you did your big bore kits, I have the stiffer valve springs and I'm just wondering how much effect if any they actually have?

dblnaknak 04-22-2003 04:55 AM

I changed mine. They are saposed to prevent over reving. You dont want your rod to hit your piston! I also put in a vent on the top tappet cover to elimnate over pressure. Some of the other guys I ride with also ported the intake and exhaust on the head. Im going to do that and install a better oil pump. The porting makes a big difference.

you dont have to change the springs unless your going with a different head i got the 88 takgawa kit and i have no rev limiter and have never had a problem with valve float the motor will turn 15,000rpm its a 4 stroke it can handle it. i use to clutch mine in third and wheelie until my wrist hurt know just whack the throttle and it glides up, i still like clutching it though sounds cool

Actually I think the main reason to buy aftermarket valve springs is for when you replace the stock ignition with an aftermarket unit such as Kitaco. The replacement ignition removes the rev limiter and helps eliminate flat spot down low.

Otherwise the stock ignition's rev limiter will kick in and prevent valves from floating.
