sprocket question?

hey ppl! I'm pretty new to all this and would like to start stuntin' doing wheelies and all. I have a '02 R6 and keep hearing about
'-1 and +2'. Can someone explain to me what that means? What do you guys recommend I should go with on my R6? I'm doing 1st gear power wheelies now but not very high:( I would like to start doing 2nd gear wheelies also. I try but they only come up a few inches:mad: Anyway, any info on this is appreciated:D

-1 +2 means 1 tooth down on the front sprocket, 2 teeth up on the rear. You don't need to gear your R6 to ride wheelies in 2nd, or even third for that matter. It would probably help, but you need to learn how to use the clutch.

Sprokets

What about just going up in the back and leafing the front alone? whould that acheive the same effect. I know you may have to change your chain...

Every 1 down in the front Is like 5 up in the back yeah you could Get the same effect if you went 7 up in the back! I set up a dude's 900 RR With 2 down and 7 up It launches Like a leapfrog!:apimp :apimp :apimp

From what i've always heard.. 1 down up front is equal to about 3 up in the back... not 5

sprockets

Hey, anyone know of a good place online to buy a 50t rear sprocket for a '91 Gixxer 1100 that is inexpensive? Also How do I know what chain to buy? I know once I mess with the sprocket I will need a new chain, what should I look for?

Sprocket Specialists and a few others make kits. If you have to get a new chain anyway might as well get both sprockets. I've always heard to replace all at same time or it will mess up your chain. As for the 1100 you should probably go with a 530 chain and sprockets. That's what most bigger bikes use. Strong but not too heavy.
