clip style vs. pressed master links... i wanna use a clip style but have heard it dangerous on a street bike... how and why? i use them on all my dirt bikes n abuse the living shit out of em... i wanna be able to take off my chain n clean it n lube it easy. |
Re: clip style vs. pressed master links... Ive Raced Motocross For 9 Years And Never Have Snapped A Chain Or A Clip Link. I Have However Snaped A Masterlink On A 200$ Did Erviii Chain On My Stuntbike. |
Re: clip style vs. pressed master links... was it a clip style? i got a 04 636 so its on a 520 if that matters... |
Re: clip style vs. pressed master links... i ran a clip style on my f4i all year 520 size abused the shit out of it never had a problem till i fucked up the clip ive heard u shouldnt use them but f it they work fine |
Re: clip style vs. pressed master links... i wouldnt be takin my clip on and off...they get all damaged easily when removing....ive got 2 master clips on my chain but u can get a new master link cheap if u really are compulsive about "taking the chain of and lubing and cleaning it easily" |
Re: clip style vs. pressed master links... clipped or pressed if not done correctly they come apart |
Re: clip style vs. pressed master links... ive never had any problems with a clip-style master and thats all i have ever ran on all my bikes, be it dirt or street. |
Re: clip style vs. pressed master links... never had a prob. techs have told me that if u reuse them, or put them on backwards they could fail. |
Re: clip style vs. pressed master links... If you run a clip-style, buy new master links everytime you take them off! Removing and reinstalling a used link is what makes them come off.. I had mine fall off 100 miles from home.. sucked! |
