Re: dirt bikes? IF you want to stunt, get a 4 stroke If you want to race, get a 2 stroke If you want to ride trails, get a 4 stroke If you like repairing things and never really riding, get a 2 stroke If you like to just kick it once, or hit the magic button, and know it'll run for the next 5 years, get a 4 stroke |

I see cr125's and cr250's go all dya for $600-$1500.. WAY less then any 4 stroke 250-450.. But I do agree, i'd much rather be on a 4 stroke for racing, stunting, trail riding, or anything.. But hte only thing 2 strokes are good for, is racing, which is why I suggested it |
Re: dirt bikes? 2 strokes are power houses plain and simple...but they are not as forgiving as a 4-stroke...theyre also way cheaper to rebuild than a 4-stroke as for getting a 125 it depends on what you plan on doing with it. fuck life buy a CR500 lol |
Re: dirt bikes? Rather get the 250 2t. With your size / weight, it wont take too long before you'll be looking for a bit more "oomf". I'd recommend a 450 if you go 4t. If you're looking for white knuckle, lip flapping, teeth grinding, brown streaking accelaration and brute 2t power, get the CR500. (aka Widowmaker) Ive had 2 in the past and they are nasty, mean motherfookers. Lots of fun though!!! |
Re: dirt bikes? My advice, ask this question some place else.99.9% of this advice is fkn garbage |

More times than not lap times are the same between the 'motocross and the motocross lites class' My souped up CRF 250 hole shots many 450's at Budds Creek which has a 4th gear start straight....and if thats not enought look at Ryan Villopoto, he got the holeshot both his races at the MX of nations at Budds on his KXF250....he beat over 40 other bikes....most of which were 450's. The open class allowed up to a 500cc thumper, yep he beat these to the first turn also. |

Re: dirt bikes? If you are looking to get a dirt bike for stunting, get a TTR125L. You will never EVER regret it. Bullet proof and the TTR's don't have the stupid stall-in-a-wheely carb problem many smaller Honda dirt bikes have. Very light weight as well. With some skill you can pull the TTR up in any gear, including fifth. |
