I cut the existing bars that extend out from my frame and I welded a new and thicker scrape plate on the back. used the 3 penny rule to get the proper plate:ground angle. word up homies.:apimp |
Richie, How did you weld it up to your frame? I'm trying to get one for my bike, but do not know how to bolt and/or weld it to the bike... I have a '99 Z50 same as you... show me some pics please. |

1 Attachment(s) :hello |
damn i wish the xr frames were that strong, that thing is a beast |
Richie, That looks great, thanks for the pics! Looks like you have it bolted up in 2 places on each side right? What size steel did you use on the long pieces, and also on the rear scrape plate? Also, have you had any problems with bending the frame at all, I'm 240 lbs, and am scared of screwing up my main frame... Thanks in advance, |
1 Attachment(s) here is a ghetto little diagram I made, the scrape plate on the new bar is a little wider and longer though. I'm 190lb. and I havent had ant problems bending the frame at all, the Z50 frames are beefy as hell, and I've hit it hard. The extending 2 pieces of the bar gave a little and bent but still remains strong. Hope this helped ya out, now go make a bar and kill shit! If you have any other questions just ask away. Lates. |
