I dont know the word in english, but he can adjust his RPM with this for no handed tricks! I have the same on my cbr 600rr, its great because you dont need the little cable!

I got a chance to see him ride in person last month here in Salt Lake for the world superbike championchips! Such an amazing rider and showman! He has so much energy!
