Cafe' Racer style bikes

I am in the process of selling my RC51 and I going to be buying an F4I to learn to stunt on and a cruiser bike of some sort for hitting the streets.

Anyone here know anything about cafe' racers? I don't know a whole lot about them or where to start... all I really know is I want something bare bones, stripped down, low drop style bars, loud wrapped pipes, flat black or bare metal... you know, just raw all over. Basically a chopper style jap bike without the long forks. I can picture in my head exactly what I want, but no idea where to start.

Re: Cafe' Racer style bikes

no no noooooo, not like a beat *** crotch rocket.

More like an old Honda CBXXX, old Norton, old triumph or old ducati.

Like these, but more raw, more stripped and obviously customized how to my liking:

I could see starting with something like this, but I don't know enough about them to know if it would be a good platform or not.

Re: Cafe' Racer style bikes

Don't know much about them , but ya gotta love those old hondas :YEAH

More of a collectors piece . You would be limited in speed and handling . It would suk to drop one .

One would probably be worth more if you had the original upper and side fairings .

But you said you wanted one stripped , so .......

When i first bought my F2 (new) , some old man said "nice Cafe Racer" . I was like "WTF is that"

Pimpus Maximus is a decent person
Re: Cafe' Racer style bikes

I know we all hate harleys, but a sportster 883 would be a sweet bike to rip around on, and easy to customize ANY way you want it.

Re: Cafe' Racer style bikes

the only real way to get a cafe racer look like that, is to buy an old bike.

meaing....45hp, shitty throttle response, worse brakes, etc.etc.etc.etc.

i think a modern streetfighter loooks much more sick...

Sure, it looks cool, but that isn't what I want, what I want is more chopper than it is rice rocket. I am prepared for the oldness that comes with it... who knows though, maybe it will end up with a modern motor and brakes etc. We'll see how it goes.

Re: Cafe' Racer style bikes

good luck, your gonna be spending some serious $$$ for an old school bike with modern brakes and motor. a modern motor would prolly be to much for the frame too.... need to beef that up.

best of luck to you tho.

Too new, I want old. I think it's going to have to be an early 80's Honda CB750 with disc brakes
