My furred helmet

I don't remember where I saw the pic, but it was a street helmet and the guy had put green fur all over. I thought it was sick. so mid-night rolls around, I figure, what the hell, I've got a plain black dirtbike helmet just sitting there. I'm bored, and it'd be sick if it was covered in fur.

Went to walmart, bought a **** carpet rug.
Bought 6 boxes of blue dye.
Went to the local laudromat, dyed the white run blue.
Went back got the rug, and ran like hell from the pissed laundro mat attendant
got home, let it dry, and set to work

I ended up just using newspaper to make a template of what fit best,
traced it to the underside of the carpet, cut it out, and glued i to the helmet
using industrial strength glue.
I think it's pretty pimp, kinda annoying to ride with though.

Anyways.... here's the results.

Hmm did you maybe see my helmet somewhere (look at the my avator) . Looks good by really puffy. I went to a fabric store and got the fur for mine!

did that about 4 years ago to an old arai helmet lots of wind drag it kills your neck at highway speeds. just get some 3m spray adhesive and fur and go to town

hell yeah 3m adhesive will hold anything thats how i furred my bike and i had some scrap material and i was actually thinking about furring my lid but its more of like a velvet cheetah print not all shaggy the shaggy lid maked you look like a ape
