valve retainers rarely, if ever fail. Ive only ever seen them fail when they were installed in the improper uppers (ie 7 deg. keepers in 9 degree retainers) or due to a valvespring problem. Springs on the other hand fail regularly with high rpm use. What happened to you was unlikely to be a problem from the head, and VERY likely a problem with assembly. Sounds like your tech had the timing off, cranked it and hit a piston with a valve. when that locked the motor he blames the head you bought. easy-you dont know any better. Unless the head was dissasembled and put together with bits of twig and glue, it wasnt fiddys fault. Blame the tech who doesn't know how to set cam timing OR installed the wrong shims if clearances were adjusted.

im no mechanical wizzard or anything but it sounds to me like the tech just fucked it up and doesnt wanna fess up. either way, sorry bout your luck. mechanical problems alway suck IMO. i am however about 99% sure 50 did not intentionally sell you a bad head. hes an honest dude.
