Re: Cbr600rr tank denting
Honestly what good does it do to tweak on someone for not using the search funcition. If a person is totally new to the sport of stuntriding and gets nothing but pure BS when he is trying to ask a question that he honestly dosn't know anything about then why would that person even want to get into the sport if all he got for responses where bashes on that person? I have recently been looking into the sports of Drifting and Supermotard and have posted question on both of the main forms related to those sports and have been able to acquire lots of useful information on different things in both sports. When it comes to someone new asking a question that can easily be answered or looked up post up the link for them or something. There is no need for senseless bashing. It does absolutely no good for the sport.

Re: Cbr600rr tank denting
Rob - Hopefully by now you have your 600rr tank dented in by now. Otherwise, for those who need help (Aaron and I as owners of 07/08 600rr's can relate to the difficulty level of this) here are some basic tips:
1. take the plastic tank cover off
2. beat in the metal gas tank to the desired dent, this is all you get, it's not much and will only be on the back side of the tank.
3. take the plastic tank cover, heat it with a blow torch lightly on both sides - just under the meling point but try not to melt it. start mending it down to what the metal tank you beat in looks like. USE A GOOD SET OF LEATHER GLOVES TO HOLD THE PLASTIC AND TO WORK WITH IT!
4. once you get the plastic tank cover close enough to your tank, just keep test fitting it until you get it right.
this project takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get the tank right, then about 2-3 hours to get the plastic mended down to the right bend to match the metal tank. you can also go the extra step and use fiberglass molding to build an extra lip! you may see pictures of my 07 600rr on SteelHorseStunters.com

Re: Cbr600rr tank denting
With an 03 cbr600rr I've seen on YouTube a guy cut the bowl shape out on his tank and then dent it from there then grip it after. Does anyone else think this is a good idea? It seems as bit easier than using a heat gun and trying to make the cap fit back in the hole in the tank cover. I've got and I really want to dent the tank. Any input would help. I don't really want to do the heat gun route.
