444nick hows the shortie f4i pipe here mine mate
ok
heres mine not finished but getting there
hope it helps people if they wana try
i cut both ends off and kept all 3 cambers
used a hack saw to take the end cap off/out let off
and left the internal out let pipe as long as pos
and cut the other end as well both ends were cut just on the main body side of the welds
so with both ens off then cut/grind the hanger off
i chose my size as the width of a A3 sheet of papper
witch also gives u straight end to scribe into the steel
the edge off my cut was on the end cap side of a small box stamped into the can
near the honda logo
also havent had to mess with the internal pipe work:YEAH
except u got heat and bend the out let pipe down a little
heated mine with BBQ coals and a air line
i bent it till there was 3mm gap between the 2 main pipes
a good find was the way the end cap is made it comes apart into 2
place it over a off cut from the chromed can just i skin and hit it out
there a drain hole as well that help with leverage
and u can take out whats left of the old out let pipe and re use it latter to give u a gas tight 3 cambered seal we all hope
the hole is off center and helps to line up when u re assemble it
u place the this piece back over the internal out let pipe witch u bent a little with some hamering and adjusting
and weld round the internal out let pipe as it was before u grond/cut it off
then put the chromed S/S end cap over the top use a rubber hammer
should if ur cuts where straight weld it up with stainless steel rods
started welding it back up today i gota clean up my weld with a grinder
file and polish cos i s**k at welding i got lot of repect for thos who can
to be continude:

nice, looks sweet - and maybe just *slightly* cheaper than mine turned out to be - good skills.
yeah - 12 bar doesnt really look too tricky to make realistically - depends on what you want it for thought first.
i.e. do you want to do long scrapes like ape hangers / watchtowers - where the bike needs to balance.... or do you want it to just pritect the back of the bike for a touchdown kinda scrape - and make one of those nice tucked in U-bend bars?

think i like the idea of parking it up there and walking away:YEAH
and super slow scrapes just fast enough to get off the bar again

Re: 444nick hows the shortie f4i pipe here mine mate
u dont need a new sump
u probably dont need the stuntex thing really - which is the gasket (made of alluminium) just take the sump off, spin the oil pick up round 180 degrees - u might need to make a olding device here. (comes with the stuntex thing) it's basically a soft (aluminium) washer with a little (5mm?) tab sticking out that folds over a gap to hold the pickup in place - and to stop it spinning back round. this makes the oil pick up from the rear of the sump in stead of the front
then overfill oil by about 3/4 of alitre - should be fine (no picks - check the stuntex.com website?)
bought a manual CCT, my stock one was buggered.

Mines half cut up tooo not going to lengths of what alstars done tho as i still cant work out why
I just cut the bottom of the pipe (with the header link pipe on) and then cutting 5" off the chamber free part of exhaust, welded it back together and then using a strap to fit on the bike (instead of re-welding the hanger back on..)
should be done soon hopefully.. takes fecking ages to cut through them!

you spent lots of time and work into it. Looks good though. I choped mine in half with a hacksaw, took the guts out, rivited a R6 cap on my stock can, hit it with a polishing wheel. Looks like chrome, spent maybe 3 hrs total. WAAAY too loud, but who cares huh?
Just wanna tell you brits that I wouldnt be riding a bike if I didnt pick up PB for the first time. It was all downhill from there, US sportmags ****! except super streetbike. laters fockers!

Re: 444nick hows the shortie f4i pipe here mine mate
Thats a cool bit of tinwork on the pipe, looking forward to the 12bar art.
make sure that the bar sits as far up from the wheel as possible (without looking like a spoiler). My bar is by the bottom of the brake light - its crap becaus the bikes really unstable on long scrapes (the bar and tyre contact point act like a super short wheelbase vehicle). My FI cage has broken now because I made a crappy 12 bar.
Keep it close in to the tail too or the bike drops back down too easy.
