Cartilege piercings + helmets?

Re: Cartilege piercings + helmets?
i have had three in my cartilage for years, they heal slow depending on where you get them... i have small hoops so i have no ploblems with a helmet. i did find that wearing something over my ears while they were healing brought on infection, so keep them open to air until they healed up...

Riding is always a good idea. i had ploblems, you might not. a sweaty helmet setting on fresh peircings could lead to infection. yeah i have had mine for a minute and i dont care how old school it is... But no peircing is worth not riding...ever...your call, if you want them that bad ride for the summer and do it in the winter so you dont have to **** with the b.s.

Re: Cartilege piercings + helmets?
as a piercer i would say its best to avoid applying pressure to the piercings till theyre healed....how ever small barbells would avoid downward outside pressure...dont get pierced with a gun or ear ring studs..go to a piercing studio and use real body jewelry... captive bead rings will work but might cause issues in the long run....i have implants on my temple and they get snagged when pullin mi helmet off but i try and use caution...

I have barbells goin through the upper conch (inner ear cartilege) on both my ears. When I got the first one done I was riding the next day and I was just cautious when I put my helmet on or took it off...never had a problem.
Like the rudeboy said...get bars, not rings.
