Re: What do ya think?

i think that tat. looks pretty dum. think about it...a lot. cuz your gonna be lookin at it for the rest of your life. i got that one tribal band (in the picture i posted below) a few years ago, and it was okay but i got tired of it. plus having flash art on your body just seems so stupid to me. if its gonna be on me forever, i want it ONLY on me.

My tip. find a really good artist before you even think about it. Then go talk to him. then figure out what you want. then get it.

I wouldn't go as far to say that it is dumb, but 929_uR does have a point. This is something that you are going to live with for the rest of your life. Make it unique to you. Meaning, make it something that someone else can not just walk into a tattoo shop, look at a wall of pics, and choose the exact same one that you have.

I will post mine up so you get an idea, because I have a little bit of both custom and unoriginal on me.

Just my 2 cents for what its worth.

John

Re: What do ya think?

Here is my first one ever.
It is the Japanese symbol for wolf.
This is a partial custom because the artist added the claw marks.
The marks were not in the picture that I picked from the wall.

Re: What do ya think?

My second one was just an impulse that was picked off the wall.
Since I got it, I have seen like three other people with the same design, just different colors.

Re: What do ya think?

And finally my masterpiece.
Totally custom and one of a kind.
Right now I have 15 hours in it and still need to go back for another 3 to finish it.

Also most legit tattoo shop will not allow you to smoke while getting the ink done. It is for hygenic reasons. Some artists will allow you to take a break and to go outside and have a stick of weed. My buddy that got one had to do that because he was such a wuss that he about passed out while getting his ink.

Here are the ones that my wife has. Her first one was done for centimental(SP) reasons.

Re: What do ya think?

She then got one on an impulse, while watching her brother get his ink.

This is a really bad picture because she does not want anyone but me to know where it is.

Re: What do ya think?

that idea is not too bad but i think location is poor. i would move it over to the side more...kinda by the hip bone....also rethink the tat...you don't want flash off the wall. no originality...just be sure what you want

Re: What do ya think?

the tattoo on your belly is going to take longer than 1 hr. (it's harder to tattoo the belly...every breath you take the "canvas" moves) YES IM A TATTOOIST (from Ky.)....also the price DOUBLES on the belly, and like someone said earlier....once you have kids it will get stretched out, or become crooked.....

any shop that doubles price due to location, tell them to f' off, belly and chest tats require a controlled breath and no tightening up....if you can do that then you are fine. sorry bro but no ****ing way i would pay double based on location and no way you should be asking for double...in my humble opinion...

Re: What do ya think?

well...you humble opinion isn't enough to keep a client sitting still, so why wouldn't the price be different? if your job is harder then don't your pay go up, or charge more??? also...you get what you pay for, and unless you have a friend in the business....thats going to be alot for good work.....or you can just let anyone who charges less do it, and see how that turns out (i myself charge the same for any spot on you...i just inform you of the consequences of moving) @ the shop however you'd be paying double...like it or not......
