only problem is it looks to be based off the 230f, which has very tiny *****, those bastards should have based it off the crf250 or crf450, then we'd have a supermoto with some *****.

The ultimate supermoto bike would be a 2009 CRF450X/R & 230M hybrid with 6 speed tranny (like the 230m), very narrow first gear, and nice and wide 6th gear. electric start with head and taillights (like the 450x) and fuel injection (like the 450r) that would make a bad *** supermoto bike, light, fast, and mean.

Yeah, the 230f is slow as hell. Itd be alot of fun below 45mph, but the things top out like at 70.

Kinda cool Im happier that honda's gasping the idea of a street legal tard...but they should have chosen something a bit faster...or they should have NEVER discontinued the XR650R and stopped stamping the titles "off-road only" and added a 6th gear and electric start...that my friend would be a **** street tard mmmm...I still want to build one

Re: 2009 honda street legal motard

it's a piece of ****.

air cooled, low rev, underpowered motor with tiny crappy forks on it. 37mm....wtf is that? the 85's have bigger forks than that. Why not try 48mm Showa's like real motard bikes.

wtf honda

Hmm reminds me a bit of my xr125l I had. Doesn't look very mean though, how do you think it compares to crf250?

no comparison!

the crf250 is a race built dirtbike. the 230f base that this is made of is a farm bike. It's a toy. Displacement doesn't mean anything when it comes to power. 20cc difference is probably a double in horsepower due to the added tuning.

Those little air cooled CRF motors are made to last for 20 years without changing the oil. It's just a crf50 and added power. Nothing high performance about it. If you wanted some little 4 stroke to putt around town on then i guess it would be like a cool looking scooter.

I can't believe honda would do this with yamaha just adding their motard that is based from the yzf250 and suzuki's motard being a 400. The only reason I could see is the maintenance factor with liquid cooled high rev race motors. You can't run them all the time without continuous maintenance. We change oil on them every 3 hours of use, air filter cleaning every ride and valve adjust(check) about every 3 oil changes. Piston/ring life is estimated 15-20 hours in the service manual.
