anybody know anything about the dr 650sm

can anyone tell me anything about the suzuki dr650 sm . i never knew there was a bigger super motard from suzuki other than the drz400. i was wondering what year they were made and when did they stop making them.i had to drop some stuff off at our local welders shop and noticed hiding under a car lift a mint blue suzuki super motard that either had a 650 or a 450 but couldnt tell since there was couple other bikes in the way . i asked the guys there if they could tell me anything but they had no idea about it and the guy that owned it was out of town. does anyone have one of these ?

Re: anybody know anything about the dr 650sm

I think they made them through early 2000's...Theyre more of an enduro than a motard, if it has 17" SM wheels the owner probally swapped them on.

A bit heavy compared to some other choices and upgrades are probally limited, but I've never taken much interest in them to know for sure. Check out SMJ they have a brand/model specific section.

Would probally make a good commuter tho.

thanks fellas , im thinking he swapped the tires and cut the fenders on it , if i get a chance i will go back and check it out if the boss man lets me . more than likely im going to end up with a drz400sm or wr250x but want to keep my eyes open for something reliable and fun.i just need something that will circle wheelie and have fun getting from point a to point b . i dont need the fastest biggest bike just something fun and reliable for sure.ive got a commuter bike but want somthing to stunt that wont break the bank if she hits the pavement .
