some questions about super moto/ stunting
alright so these really are some stupid questions but bare with me.
if say u have a 450 smr are u gonna be able to cruise down the highway without revin the bitch out to keep up with traffic.
and this question effects the question before, how much money does it take on average to stunt one out, and in doing so does it no longer make it able to be a daily rider... do they have any kind of oil starving problem when vertical where you need to mod to get them to stay lubricated?

Re: some questions about super moto/ stunting
By the way you might want to look into a 450x instead of a 450r for the street cause its already got stuff like headlight & taillight, bigger gas tank, and wider-ratio tranny.
And don't worry about stunt parts yet, until you get the basic wheelies and stoppies down solid.

Re: some questions about super moto/ stunting
ive been riding bikes since i was 4 and raced offroad for 5 years. i can handle bikes pretty decent. im debating stunting out my cbr600rr or selling it and getting a motard and racing or stunting it

Re: some questions about super moto/ stunting
its a very hard decision for me to make thats why i wanna know what you guys thing about those questions cause unfortunately im stuck in florida where everything is straight and flat so a super moto isnt really the best bike down here but i dunno if i can "make it work" is a daily driver/stunt bike down here. my cbr isnt to minty any more lol its been dropped a few times doing stupid **** and now its starting to have some problems im in the process of working out.

Straight and flat? Only if your racing would a sportbike really be better. Supermotos can accelerate and go just as fast as but the hairiest sportbikes.
And when you ask people to help you decide, you are obviously going to receive an answer based on preference. For example, I would tell you to get a supermoto, as I personally think they're more fun than sportbikes...
Since your 600rr isn't so clean, stunt that until you make a decision. Can you ride a wheelie at balance point?

i can ride past balance point and slow them down. i know super motos accelerate fast but there top speeds dont match sport bikes.. unless im largely mistaken

Re: some questions about super moto/ stunting
You can get a 450 to hit 100+ top speed, but it will be geared WAY HIGH......it will kinda be hard to stunt when your 1st gear feels like 3rd gear on a stock bike. Wouldnt leave you much when your in a 1st gear idle wheelie doing 25 MPH.

joker thats kinda what im starting to think now that i actually consider it and stop thinking about how dirt bikes are my first love lol. reality is for florida and a daily driver a super moto isnt the thing. if i was buying a 2nd bike to race or stunt itd be awesome

Re: some questions about super moto/ stunting
Top speed on my aprilia is 85mph at the rev limiter. Its a tough call to stunt a streetbike or supermoto, street bikes are way easier to get set up, everything you need to stunt it is sold and bolt on. Supermotos are custom built to stunt and big $$$ also. good luck with your choice, either way you'll be having fun!

Yea, how much money and patience do you got? Setting up a tard for stunting has been an interesting journey so far, to say the least.
Higher top speeds and stunting are kind of conflicting concerns in my opinion, no matter what the bike is.
I got a KTM EXC and it carries the wider ratio tranny I guess. So with my stock gearing, I can't be in 6th gear rolling at 55mph, it is too tall of a gear, it's no good until around 65mph, and it's a 400. It keeps up on the interstate no problems what so ever.
Just remember dual sport kits, and inspections, and wheels, tires, and big brakes...all could put a normal dirt bike's total cost well over the cost of some brand new 600cc sportbikes!
So both stunting and streeting a tard can tax your wallet and your patience quicker than an out of the crate sportbike might.
I would recommend getting an already tarded out bike like an Aprillia or a KTM to save you some coin if you really want a motard. But remember with a bike like that, finding stunt specific parts will be a challenge as well, but at least you won't have to buy wheels-n-crap. Plus it will come with a title for the streets!
Good luck.
