Stoppies/Endos

Well this thread was made for a few reasons. 1) Share your variations of this stunt. 2) I have a question 3) pictures.

I just started working on doing a stoppie and swinging the back tire onto an overturned bucket, then riding off. I've done it a few times but its still a working progress. Second, my question is, I dropped a stoppie awile back and have since fixed my front brake mostly, but now I cant roll them very well and im having trouble adjusting the brake so that I can get it up, and hold it for longer than a second. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

3) I dont have any pictures yet but im working on it, I'd like to see some of your pictures though.

Re: Stoppies/Endos

the best thing i've found, is go FAST, and bounce the rear end up HARD!

there's plenty you can do with endos, highchiar, 180, etc.etc.etc.

here's a few pics:

Re: Stoppies/Endos

Those are some great pics man. I can spread my legs when I do it, and I can swing the back end around but thats about it so far. Like I said, I cant even get the back end up if my feet are over the handlebars.

Re: Stoppies/Endos

When you do stoppies in the HC position, do you need to try to raise off the seat or does your brake do all of it?

+1 that´s how I do ´em too but I can´t roll ´em too far, if you flip it just jump off...you might grab your brake a lil bit harder cause you have more weight in the back but that´s it, it´s easy!

Re: Stoppies/Endos

Well Bad news. I fixed my handlebars, and tweaked my brakes and got them perfect. I got a stoppie up a few inches in HC position and I was doing spreaders left and right. I get home from work, hop back on and do a few more stoppies and I land one then here a CLANG and the frame collapses. It landed on its kickstand and I jsut sorta hopped off. I completly broke my suspension and something is wrong with the gear cable. I think I lost an O-Ring or something and I dont even know whats wrong with the gear cable. Anyone know where I can find spare parts for a mongoose? I hope my bike isnt FUBAR'D. Thanks for any help.

Re: Stoppies/Endos

T'Ric'Ky In that second pic, are you falling or is that just a really good spreader? Im fixing my bike this weekend so hopefully its not FUBAR'd and I can fix it, then I'll get some pics up. vbmenu_register("postmenu_2135181", true);

Re: Stoppies/Endos

Im getting the high chair endo's down. Had to adjust my brake a little. I've broke my suspension twice now but I know how to fix it so its cool. Im taking my mountain bike to the spot to watch/stunt with ATL Freestyle later today if all goes well so hopefully I can get some pics up. I can roll endos, but more than 5 to 7ft. Any tips?

Re: Stoppies/Endos

go faster, bounce the rear end harder.

it's just gonna takes some ***** to go do it, and most likely you'll crash it.

Re: Stoppies/Endos

I took my bike out to 'the spot' when I was hanging out with atl freestyle and watching them ride, and I was practicing endos. I started doing it faster and even figured out a way to get it up that is safer and more efficient. I adjusted my brake again and made it a little on the tight side. Then, I started doing them faster, but instead of hitting the brake hard and bouncing the back end up, I would go from a faster speed, lean forward first, then get a handful of brake. This made the back end slowly lift up and once I slowed a little, come up all the way. I can also roll farther doing this. Anyone else use this method?

Re: Stoppies/Endos

haha nice, but sitdown. sitdown stoppies are ALOT easier to feel the balance on that standup.

Re: Stoppies/Endos

I start them standing and let the seat come up to me so I end up sitting. I have a pretty good feel for them now.
