2 local riders killed

2 local riders were killed the other day at one of the spots. My condolences to the family and friends. I knew one of them met him earlier this year good kid, anxious to learn , he rode w/ me for a few hours last month one day when i was praticing.

There was an article in the youngstown vindicator if anyone wants to check it out.

Cops are all over my spot now kicking everyone out, citations etc.

R.I.P.

Re: 2 local riders killed

YOUNGSTOWN — City police are investigating a motorcycle accident that killed two area men Sunday and the racing activities that may have led to the accident.

Police Sgt. Gerard Slattery said two men were dead at the scene of the 5 p.m. double- motorcycle accident on Ohio Works Drive.

Police would not release the names of the victims, but did say both men were in their early 20s.

One man is from Canfield, and the other is believed to be from Youngstown, Slattery said.

According to police, the men appeared to have been racing along the Ohio Works Drive area, traveling at speeds greater than 90 mph, when the motorcycles clipped one another, ejecting both men from the motorcycles.

Both riders were wearing helmets.

RIP

Thats why ***** gotta be organized. No disrespect intended to these two, but if you're gonna drag folks, talk about who is turning what way at the end of the street, talk about how many guys are running at the same time, take a slow ride and check the street for cracks, potholes and sand. Like I said, no disrespect but I'd hate to see another rider go down for something like this again this summer.

Re: 2 local riders killed

I think drag racing and high speed riding should be left for tracks. Granted, you can still get seriously injured or killed from riding slow stunts, but as your speed increases so does the propensity for greater injuries.

I agree for the most part. Don't do **** like that at the local stunt spot.
At first I thought it was gunna be an article about a squid doing a power wheelie into a stunter, but it turns out they weren't even stunting, they were racing.
That will definatly put a bad name to the stunters in that area now.
No disrespect to the riders that died.........that really sucks to hear about.

Re: 2 local riders killed

you never know w/ the news and papers they get **** way off. The next day the paper said they were stunting so who knows.

Ive been practicing at that spot for almost 4 yrs w/ no troubles on sundays. this past year it started getting out of control w/ new riders there doing 110mph power wheelies etc. they were everywhere. They all go out on the road though and i usually just go to the loading docks and work on slow stuff so it doesnt bother me. But now i probably lost my spot really the only good spot i had.... Stunting def. got a bad rep around hear this past year not that it hasnt already,...

Re: 2 local riders killed

that sucks, hopefully they're in a better place now.

when i read the article, i thought that they were doin wheelies side-by-side, and lost it, or they were doin wheelies towards each other, and ran into one another.

no disrespect to the deceasesd but I just wanted to say that racing bikes on the streets is straight up gay. (especially when you have no racing experience on a track)

Most young kids who get bikes are immature. They think they are so effing cool because they go fast hence the name SQUID

My thoughts and prayers go out to the familys.

This is the second death story I heard about today only. kinda sucks ya know

Dont race do slow wheelies at 60 mph max no squid ****
