brake fade....

so iv been practicin real slow wheelies...and my rear brake has been getting really hot.... 2 Then 2 night I went 2 hit my rear break...no 1 home. ..i dont run a hand brake...just wonderin if this has happened 2 any1 else...and what I can do 2 stop it....thanks

You probably boiled your fluid.

Once it cools the brakes will come back, but every time you boil it you lower the boiling temperature, this will cause it to boil sooner and sooner.

Bleed your brakes till you have replaced all the old fluid with new fluid, then make sure nothing is hanging up.

Valvoline dot 4 synthetic is pretty decent stuff and you can find it at most auto parts stores.

It will say dot 3-4 on the bottle but that just means it's safe to use on dot 3 or dot 4 systems, you don't want to use something that just says dot 3.

You could go the expensive route and use rbf 600 but in that case you need to make sure you flush the whole system because rbf 600 doesn't mix well with other brake fluids.

And don't use any 5.1 brake fluid, alot of 5.1 fluids aren't compatible with the seals in your brake system.

Changed 2 full synthetic....seems work good....its still in the back of my mind thou....maybe im usin 2 much brake...i dont really want 2 put hand brake on it thou....
