Re: How to start a drift?

Personally i dont use the front brake while drifts..
Go straight, block the rear brake, slide the bike to left/right whatever feels best for u. Let the bike slide down to a low angle. A split second before u pop the clutch, u twist the throttle a bit..
If your drift get out of control, ull anytime prefer to lowside, that happens usually if u give to much gas. Eventually the bike will come to a stop, pick it up and try again :-)

A good help could be to have a foot on the ground, hopes this will help

Re: How to start a drift?

Because you would either high side or tuck the front end. The only time you would use the front brake to drift is if your in a higher gear goin down the road or on a track when your runnin out of gear. If your just learning to drift in a parking lot and you grab too much front brake your gonna slide the front tire and end up on the ground. Someone could get hurt pretty fast from getting bad advice.

Re: How to start a drift?

pop the clutch a split second before you stop your slide, roll on the gas and dont be too choppy. Like MikeMJ posted, always lowside. Your way better off havin the bike slide out from under you than highsiding.

Re: How to start a drift?

Doing a moving burnout while holding the front brake is a rolling burnout, it's a different trick than drifting.

When drifting a motorcycle you don't use the front brake, if you are using the front brake then you are doing a rolling burnout not a drift.
