single caliper handbrake setup?

Re: single caliper handbrake setup?
I'm still not sure what I'm gonna go with, I'm def changing my brake setup this winter.
But really it's been floating through my head just to make a homemade bracket for a single 4 piston caliper, or hell even a 2 piston (but not sure if 2 piston would be good enough)
Noticed my old bike, fzr600 has a 2 piston rear caliper factory, and fzr parts are dirt cheap

Re: single caliper handbrake setup?
Notice with his single cal setup his high chair is only about a foot of the ground. Well because they suck and he is afraid it won't grab good enough. Dual cal you would just pop the fucken bike up and use the hand brake like it was supposedto be. oh i also see he has a ton of posts but then asks well i always wondered when ya use both hand and foot brakes. R U serious do you even ride. WTF? I do it all the time when switching from one trick to another. ( like from a no handed circle to a seet sander one handed circle, you may press them both inbeteren) I'm not sure maybe I don't ride

Re: single caliper handbrake setup?
I did everything. flipped the master upright, took the caliper off the mount and shook like an infant child. Bill at full throttle is making me the quad cal set up for my r6 like they have for the kawis. never used a 4 piston and cant wait

Re: single caliper handbrake setup?
It wouldn't be any different then a dual setup... Unless you are switching between the two
Infact, with a dual setup, if you are using just one brake, you will theoretically overheat it faster.. Since there are two pads dragging.
Of course, switching between the two, it would take longer to overheat.
I've never faded a brake personally, but also after working the brake hard for a while I give it time to cool. I also change my fluid out every year.

Re: single caliper handbrake setup?
Junction valve really isn't that bad, just people use **** master cylinders and expect them to work boss on a single piston caliper.
They certainly aren't the boss setup, but they aren't that bad. With a quality master cylinder, they work great.
And hell i'd be willing to bet with a 4 piston caliper linked to the foot and hand brake through a junction valve, you'd have perfect braking. But I've never tried it
edit: I got a STEAL of a deal on mine tho, so I didn't even think twice about it. Spent $25 on the adapter, $40 on a line, and got a hell of a deal on a 1000rr master for $50
