so i was doing a wheelie at about 20 mph yesterday, and i dont have a 12 bar or round bar, just plastics. i got so close to scraping the road so i slammed on the brake and came down mad hard. my forks bottomed out, no visual damage, doesnt ride shitty...i basically want to know, how bad that is for the bike? or how many times it will actually take to **** up the forks..09 zx6r showa big piston forks

my bad, i dont have an old f4i, or a 636 or some ****...i have a brand new bike...therefore i have newer parts on my bike. in 2009 the zx6r has new forks...they have a piston in it that is bigger than the ones in the other forks..hence the name(big piston forks). Showa is the company that makes them.

zip ties do for a temporary fix for your powerbands, i zip tied mine and there stil holding up strong, if not stronger than original standard powerband..

you can get a local shop to rewind your powerband as well, or you can use a VHS tape rewinder and hook it up to your battery and the powerband and that will work ok too

Your new bike has newer parts than an old bike, well thats just crazy enough to work, i think you may be on to something here. be sure to fill your forks with helium so its easier to wheelie

motorcycle power steering fluid does a much better job in the forks, especially big piston forks..

i actually just bought a gemini turn table...ran my power band to it and it told me through the speakers that big piston forks are already filled with helium and the swing arm is hollow (also filled with helium) to stoppie better. "weird" right?? the 09 already makes you a better rider being as how its a NEW bike* EVERYONE SHOULD SELL THEIR 636's and f4i and buy THE "NEW" ZX6R IMEDIATLEY. it has newer parts on it*

im sure you will lose count of how many times you mouse trap your **** before you blow the fork seals.. thats pretty much all ive ever heard of failing on newer forks. or any forks for that matter. what will blow your **** prematurely is slamming circle wheelies crooked . landing with the bike leaning to one side or the other. So stop worrying about your motor scooter and ride some wheelies
