no squids for my squid style question..

ok i can get an 04 r6 or an 03 636 for the same price both have clean titles, the r6 has dirt bars and a sick cage but the subframe is all broke to ****, the 636 is bone stock but overheats with just normal riding, changed the thermostate and cap, not that. and wont know unless i buy it, looking for ppl that kinda know there **** for advise, i know this is a squid as **** question but i cant decide what one, they are both cheap as **** but and only afford one

Re: no squids for my squid style question..

the 636 might just have some air in the cooling system, doesnt take much to cause a major overheating issue. as for the r6 having transmission problems, ive never heard that at all and ive owned 2 of these. my 03 i put 42000 miles on and beat the **** out of that thing rarely ever changing the oil and it never had any shifting problems. nor does my 05 which has around 13000 miles on it now. both great bikes imo. cant go wrong with either one really.

Re: no squids for my squid style question..

636 can only be 3 things, pump, therm, rad. or an extreme case some chit clogged up water ports in the head.

i got a waterpump if you deside to get the 636

Re: no squids for my squid style question..

Check to make sure the system on the 636 purged. If their no air possible could be the water pump. Last but not least if their is still little bubbles in the coolant system your probably popped the head gasket

Re: no squids for my squid style question..

dude i have a 05 r6 and love it, all you got to do is get the sick subframe and your good. The r6 makes more power in low rpm, so you can lug it at 2mph and wont die. Also it is pretty light as well. So get the ******* r6 and that's it.
