Talking questions 600f2

i recently bought a 92 honda f2.. now i was looking for a cheap bike to beat on as so i dont tear up my minty one.. clean title for $850

i heard alot of people started on these, in you opinion how are they?

another tech question

the bikes runs fine when you charge the battery then it dies as the battery gets low, so im almost positive it needs a stator, but the kid i got it off of says it also needs a rectifier (sp?) as well as the stator.. now what exactly does that do and how do i tell if its bad?

thanks for any reply =)

Re: questions 600f2

Yeah it might be either one of those ....you will need eletronic tools to test to see if its good or not. I forget what kind of tools or you can buy the parts on ebay since they r cheap to buy on ebay

Re: questions 600f2

Stators are a common problem on the early 90's F2s. Replace it and it should be fine.

I myself just bought my Second F2 .... I have one for the streets and now one for the lots. They may be old but run like champs I've learned everything i know on em and they seem good to me. You might get something else from someone who's ridden a FI bike or an F4I or something... But as far as i can tell you, learning on the F2 has been great so far.
Let me know if you need any parts or anything for the bike btw... i have about 5 bikes in F2 parts now and can toss you just about anything for a fair price

Re: questions 600f2

its prolly just the rectifier. you can use a later gsxr one, you need to redo some wires, but its way more robust than the stock f2 one. search cbrforums
