Is any one using frame sliders or bicycle pegs instead of the powers sliders. I was thinking of buying $15 frame sliders and using threaded rod and putting it through the axle. I think this would help keep the pegs from hitting the ground. Anyone else use these. How do they work?

 

I've seen it done in a variety of applications. It has worked well for the guys I've seen running them.

 

just cut your pegs in half. it sucks by the way i have done it

 

i bought bycycle pegs. i'll use threaded rod through the axel. I'll post pics. Screw that $80 for the powers ones. Thats crazy........

 

`hey my boy has em all over the place and they work great.he uses the walmart bike pegs and threaded rod just don't leave them too long

 

Thats where i bought mine. I think i'm going to make the 3 inches.

 

all you have to do is cut your pegs in half and you wont break rear sets.

figured that one out on my own after about 5 sets

 

used pvc pipe once and took some chicks leg out , ha crazy **** u had to of seen it... thats what she got for cutting me off on her bike.

 

been there, done that, waste of time.... the all thread rod will bend or break the first time the peg touches the ground.

 

you have to make them out of a semi soft plastic and you cant make them too long or they will flip the bike up on to the tank if you crash.

 

I cut then down short. They were 4 inches i made them 3.. I used 1/2 inch rod... That ***** solid as hell. If these break they have a set of five frame sliders on ebay for $25. I'll try those...

 

i would make them more like 2inches.

Yeah, If these break i'll try shorter. I'm going to cut my pegs too.

 

I wouldnt ever put anything through an axle, we had to replace an Aprillia rear axle from sliders. It bent out the threaded side.

 

it will bend or break the rod for sure from a 12oclock drop or tumble. better to break the rod than the 4 or 5 rearsest ive been through!

 

Well that's the thing...

If it's long enough to keep the rearset from touching it's either going to break right off OR throw the bike onto the tank and bars.

I tried it... it's a waste of time...

 

i guess it just depends on the cage as well. my bars havent touched the ground since i put ont he new powers cage and the sliders. to u its a waste but to me its a money saver.

 

Well...
if you put a sickinnovations cage on your f4i, you'd never break another set of rearsets again... and your bars would never touch the ground either... so your axle sliders would be a waste of time... and money.
