Re: Attn R6 riders!!!

Ok I got to try it out for about 10 min. this afternoon, I love it!

I'm so much more comfortable gasin it mid circle. I don't feel like I have to be so careful. I'm gonna work on SS tomorrow and see if I can keep em smooth enough for O's w/o HB. If this works I'm gonna try to stick to no HB from here on out! I know I could just put one on but it's a personnal goal of mine.

Again, Cool Find!!!!!!!!!

i am the same way, i have personally strived to get better without a handbrake... and i think i will keep it that way.

i solidified tank wheelies today, did hell-of em, and then i started doin some mini spreaders. i will work on gettin em slower tomorrow, i was just figuring out the technique today....

i think that this throttle mod will be usefull soon, so i might have to go ahead and do it.

Re: Attn R6 riders!!!

I dont really understand why you guys want to do things "the hard way" Most people that can do slow clean wheelies have a fair amount of skill, after that it usually just comes down to practice. If you do get your SS O's down without a brake, or for sytfu-r6, if you get as good as you can without a HB, its going to take you a lot longer to do it then if you had one. Just get a HB learn as much as you can as fast as you can and call it a day.

Re: Attn R6 riders!!!

I trimmed it with my dremel tool. I held the dremel in one spot and rotated the tube on the clipon so it would be smooth. Worked great.

By the way I'm on a 636 so it was already smooth but now it's like butta!

And for the HB, I'm gonna hook mine up one day I think, I've had them before on other bikes but I gotta get the adapter cause it's different on the kawi.

I just saw Jesse ride back in April and was dam impressed. Made me wanna try goin that far without it. Maybe I'll put a sticker on my bike that says "I'll get a handbrake when Jesse does"

Re: Attn R6 riders!!!

dude, all jap bikes are like 9/16inch tube clip-ons, any throttle tube from 1985-2009 will slide onto the clip-on

Re: Attn R6 riders!!!

does it matter what year of F4I tube to use on the r6, is it a basic swapout? and is it easier to just shave the stock tube or replace it with the F4Is? not sure if i understand exactly where your shaving them down but sounds like a great mod, i've gotten used to the twitchyness but 2nd gear sux to hold standups, my bike is only -1+1 and i do all my combos in 3rd at about 60 without using HB or rear brake for miles, i think to slow down and gear even higher this mod will be great i'm gonna give it a try

Any year F4i should work.

It was easier for me to dremel it and then I knew for sure that it would be smaller than factory cause I didn't know if the F4i was the same as my 636 at the time.
It'll make more since to you if you take the 2 screws out and open the switch/throttle assembly.
This is one of the best mods I've done to my bike as far as a confidence gainer.
