Re: 3rd gear bounce.

I don't like being hit by traffic on the highway doing wheelies either. Not at 115 but around 85-90.

Like I said earlier, I'm not trying to find the b/p in third. I've been practising in 2nd. I'm starting to clutch 2nd now also, I like it because I don't have to go quite as fast. I feel more comfortable with my left foot on the back peg and my right over the brake. I've been toying with first but my throttle control still needs work, first is a little touchy. lol

Ok guys.....point taken.
I'll stick to first. I guess I'll let some air out the back tire as well.

listen to the advice of people that have been there. stay in first. try not to do anything stupid. ex. "doing 3rd gear wheelies @ 100". trust us when we tell you the pavement will bite you......how hard it bites you is up to you!

You can also purchase some skill from haibikeshop.com . Just go to their website and search for skill.

Re: 3rd gear bounce.

High speed and inexperience = trouble... Don't let 3rd gear be the death of you, dude... man up and put that ***** in 1st before you get hurt. I looped a powerwheelie in 2001 strung out at 70ish... not a good deal, totaled a sweet 929 and sent me to the ER

+1!!!! Is there anyone around you that stunts??? Go find them, watch those cats and learn from them!!!

Not many stunters around my area. I know there are a lot in Orlando, but thats about an hour and a half away. There are a couple guys around here that do nothing but power wheelies. I think thats why I learned them first.
Anyway......I've been practising with the clutch, so hopfully I'll have that damn balance point pretty soon. I still seem to be chasing my front tire a little bit but I know I'm close.

P.S. I know I need to slow down and I have, so please everyone, stop calling me an idiot. Believe it or not, I have been taking the advice that yall have been giving me.

everyone starts out with power wheelies, you gotta crawl before you walk. as for your balance point, im not trying to talk shyt but im willing to bet your no where close to it. have a friend video tape you so you can see how high your bike really is, chances are youll be surprised how low you are. i only say this because i thought the same thing. you can use my avitar as a reference point my front tire is about 1ft. below my balance point.

Damn......your prolly right. I did have someone film me with her camera phone. It wasn't great quality but I can tell that I do have some work ahead of me. I'm close to the your aviator pic but if thats about a foot off then.......yeah I'm not as close as I thought.
