whats the normal temp. on cbr 900rr

Im wondering if anyone has ridin their 900RR in weather about 35-45 degrees and what the temp is while driving down the road?? Mine seems to be running hotter than Id think.. but Id think if its..40 degrees and your driving at 55 and that cold a$$ wind coming into the radiator would keep the temp down...any help would be cool

umm...it depends on how long you've been driving, at what rpm and all. i would say on a normal highway cruise for like, i don't know, 3 or 4 minutes it runs about 180 or so.

generally bikes do'nt drop below 180, i've never saw mine below 175 and i use water wetter in it to cool it better.

what is yours running at?

Id say when I take off from the warm up of about 110..then I drove easy for about 3 miles then came onto it a few times through the gears then setteled at a steady 55-60 for about 5 miles and it kept jumping between 152-to mid 160's It just seems my other 900's ran about mid 140's but Its hard to say because that was almost a year ago..just want to be sure its doing ok,it just seems to not level off at a steady temp like it used too..ya know like its 150 then it goes to 154 then 152 then 159 etc. I fingered maby the thermostat was stickin or some $hit let me know what ya think

the thermostat on those bikes is 82 degrees celsius which is about 181 degrees F. that means your thermostat won't open up until 181.....so it running that cold, that's REALLY weird. i ride a lot in cold weather, down into the teens and single digits and my bike doesn't go below 175.....and i do'nt think i've saw any of my friends bikes go below 170.

Your bike should run right at the thermostat temperature when it's cold out. If the motor is cold the thermostat should be closed, if it's hot then it lets fluid out into the radiator. If you bike is running too cold then you thermostat is not closing completely.
