02 gsxr 750 to 05 gsxr 750 engine

I was told when i bought the bike that it did have a 05 750 motor is there anyway i can tell it is a 05 in the bike ??? the choke doesnt work and it has the 02 cluster in it i cant tell if it is a 05. I was told that the 02 750 has a oil tube from the head to the block on the right side any help would be nice thanks
