anybody ever have a tire blow while riding?
I've got cords showing and i'ver probably ridden about 250 miles with the cords showing. I've been working on my wheelies cause i suck at them and figured i might as well toast my old tire instead of the new one. Say my wheel pops while riding how bad is that gonna be?

your bike will self destruct. built inside every tire is an explosive charge, if u ride too long, it lights the fuse and blows up your bike....you should really read the owners manual when it comes to things like this...
HAHAHA....jk...your rear will wobble like hell, and it will be very hard for you to keep it up, and dont use the rear brake under any circumstances when/if it blows...and it depends on how fast you are goin...a friend of mine had a screw in his tire, managed to save it from 80....so just get a new tire, and forget about it..

The faster you go the better it will handle. Seriously, it stands up with the higher speed. I blew my rear tire well over a 100 passing a car a couple years back and I didnt even realize it till I started slowing down and it started wobbling. luckly I was in a straight and there was driveway I pulled into. Now if you blow out a front tire your screwed. Also I wouldnt suggest practicing wheelies on a rear tire about to blow. You will know when its ready to go, you can actually push on the rubber where the threads are showing and it will feel like a very then bubble ready to pop, cuz it is. I rode my last one down like that and probably would have blew it on the way home had I not seen it.

As said...it depends. If you're turning when it blows, that could be bad. If you're going straight at normal speeds...it'll wobble, but you should be able to control it if the road conditions are ok.

The reason there aren't many replies in this thread is because most of the people that have had it happen are dead. Seroiusly, though- most of the guys that I know who have had this happen ended up crashing pretty badly.....especially when the front blows.

Re: anybody ever have a tire blow while riding?
I work for a motorcycle dealer. YOU NEED A NEW TIRE!!! Riding on the cords is very dangerous. Tires are not designed to be riden that long. You have all but lost your traction on that part of the tire. I'm sure that the bald part is in the middle to, This is now obviously the weakest part of the tire and when you wheelie your putting all the weight on it. That tires the only thing between you and the road, so dont skimp on the replacement. REPLACE IT ASAP.

have a tire like that! when it came to wheelies it got worse and worse for traction to the point that it would actually ship before picking the front end up

Re: anybody ever have a tire blow while riding?
the rear is no big deal unless your dragging knee....but your tire wouldn't have that much grip left anyway.....the thing to worry about is blowing the front out @ 80mph...it's not fun
