sweet!

hey, I just got back from riding and I got second gear wheelies down to about 100-200 ft (with my feet up), but after that my bike revs out and I have to drop the front end.. I know your supposed to use the brake, but so far ive only used it to stop from looping out.. How exactly do you "feather" it and not have the front drop?

thx

If your topping out 2nd gear you need to lean back farther and use the rear brake to keep you from looping. You lean back farther so you CAN apply the rear brake without the front end coming back down, got it? Riding the brake will also slow your speed down so you dont get to the point where you dont winde out 2nd. You will get to a point where you can go blocks at the same speed, you have everything in sync!

whenever I use the brake my front falls? I think there's something wrong with it, because I use the same techinque on my MTB and it works fine.. my rear brake is basically all or nothing ( think I should clean it? )

I used to have the same problem thinking the rear brake was either all or nothing.

Adjust the rear brake so there is more play in it. You also have to learn not to jab the rear brake when you get past the balance point. Get past the balance point and practice applying light pressure to the brake while your still on the gas and you can ride em forever

btw, when you guys do long stoppies are you pulling the shifter up and holding it so your in neutral, or do you leave it in gear? I just thought of that, not sure if it would make a difference tho..

If you have to constantly gain speed while riding a wheelie, you are not up high enough.

I leave my bike in gear while doing stoppies.
