this is a serious shot in the dark here but i live near Bragg and i'm trying to get something going there with mwr. Anyone have any advice on getting an on base show going? i know the crowd would love it but mwr doesn't seen too responsive.

Good luck with that, they'd probably make sure you had insurance put jersey barriers all around the spot you'd ride and not pay. Everything in the service is about safety and everything has to be signed by the commanding officer or even worse the base general. But you never know it's all about knowing the right people maybe an events coordinator would be able to give you information.

find out who all the local riders are from the saftey course, alot of different ranks ride, some can help ya pull strings

and hit up the event cordinator, and explain other shows have been done for the troops, example, the urban street bike warriors on gitmo

sell the idea to them, to promote cycle saftey

why don't you try joe v or anyone else that went to guitmo, they might have some insight since they did onbase shows

hahah theyre gonna make you get your safety card first then youll have to do a risk assesment itll have to get approved by 5 different chains of command then youll have to wear full racing leathers with boots and an orange vest with sandbags surrounding the area. getting anything done with the army thats within the norm is ******* rediculous nevermind some **** that will be considered "dangerous" by most commanders. but good luck to ya.

yeah i noticed that's the angle they used to get the show going in 29 palms ....its ridiculous to use stunting to promote safety but whatever works....The Marine Corps seems more open to this **** than the army. I'll contact an event coordinator....alot of work for a free show but it should be fun...thanks for the replies.

Ha Ha is this a joke? No flippin way the ARMY lets that happen......to dagerous theyll say! I get crap all the time from my chain of command because they think im a high risk......sucks to be the guy known to be crazy"crazy=stunting" around here!

so im assuming your at hunter army airfield? if so what unit there are very few there.

Marine Corps allows shows. Granted the army's a bit diff.....I'm still hopeful....John and I will annoy MWR with it sooner or later.

I'm in 1/3 Aviation...I'm an Apache guy....the man place here is Ft. Stewart which is like 30 minutes away which has all our mechanized units and ground guys. Where mostly aviation support here at Hunter
