buying a used dirt bike
Lookin in the paper for a used 4 stroke dirt bike. Are 1988 xr250 any good, using it for woods riding and wheelies. Also a sweet 95 xr400 for sale but $2000 more, how are xr 400's. Any other models to look at, I dont wanna 2 stroke.

jump & stunt this... yah your right, you dont want a 2 stroke for fun......
a 4 stroke is the way to go...
used is ok, just look at the shape of the bike, if it looks mint. then it probly is.... and vice versa...
the 4 stroke 400's power is compaired to a 250 2 stroke....
but much more reliable....xr's are great.... but for stunting try to buy newer, you want a front disc brake for stoppies, and throw some trail tires on her so she'll hook up !!!!!! do that and your golden.....it wont be long and you'll see me on honda's crf-450....
