*GRAPHIC* You believe this guy is still alive..!?
I don't know if this picture has been in rotation previously, but my room-mate just showed it to me trying to get me to sell my bike.
All I can say is,"HOLY SHIITE!!!".
Just one more reason as to why in 13 years I have never ridden w/o a helmet.

I only posted it due to it being explained to me as a motorcycle accident. That it is how it was captioned on the web-site I found it. I agree that it is disturbing. I also believe that if we took 13 year old children into a morgue, and showed them the damage a .45 munition does to a human we wouldn't have as many high-schoolers shooting themselves, their teachers and class-mates. We Americans as a whole get so disconnected from reality. Look even at our cartoons that are young are watching. Whylee Coyote gets run off a cliff chasing the Roadrunner, and he just gets up and starts over. Tom & Jerry, another prime example. Tom gets just annihilated on numerous occassions through just one cartoon, but he seems to just get right back up and start trying to kill Jerry all over again. Children are desensitized by these images at a young age which simply carries over into adulthood. I think that although it does appear as an explosive it was listed as a motorcycle accident, and this is the REALITY of what can happen to a human when you choose to ride w/o a helmet and get into a serious accident. I'm not trying to offend anyone. I'm not trying to upset anyone. I'm trying to as J DUB puts it in the new SportBikeHype DVD, "keep it real". Our sport puts us DIRECTLY in harm's way, and should not be discounted because we never are confronted with disturbing images of what can happen when something goes bad. I have treated this board only with respect & honor, and plan only on continuing the same.
I doubt w/ all the ego's and self proclaimed tough guy's, Gansta's on this site...I don't see how any of them would be offended.
Hell...If anything this flippin Man is Gangsta for not wearin his lid. right....

that was a shotgun blast. it is an inside to outside explosion not happening from outside trama to the head. its impossible for your head to explode from hitting to hard. it would IMPLODE making his face inside out not outside in.
...it may have been listed as a Harley accident, but there is no way of receiving such great impact to the face without cracking your cranium. And even if he hit something just below his eyeballs, the same force that made his face explode would take his head off or at least break his neck. I am curious about one thing, WHY THE *** WAS HIS ARM BANDAGED BEFORE HIS FACE stabilized, AND WHY IS HE SO CLEAN
no dirt or burns. It is a cool pic though MELAMPUS, makes a nice screensaver on my mother'in'law's desktop...can't wait for her to turn it on

Oh and that's a blood pressure cuff not a bandage....
Actually, I saw this picture when I was active duty over three years ago. The guy was setting up an explosive device and put the blasting cap in his mouth to hold it for a sec...he figured out the hard way why we are told not to touch the actual blasting cap. It has a very powerful charge in it to set off the secondary explosive. It only takes 3 volts to set off a blasting cap and we usually have more than that built up in us with static electricity. That is why you do not touch the actual cap.
