well, technically it was my mower deck to begin with, i just didnt know where it was or ever expect to see it.

Cliff notes:
I inherited the tractor from my grandfather in upstate ny
It was in his old shed with its plow and snow chains
My aunt & uncle live next door to my grandparents old house
Aunt and uncle are cleaning their house out to sell it and they found this behind their garage
My aunt called my dad to ask him which tractor it was for (my grandpa had a bunch and my uncle is dumb)
My dad knew right away what it goes to and told her to leave it there for me.

I really want to grab up a riding mower soon.

 

So now I'll have a 48" mower to cut a lawn thats under a thousand square feet.

Its gonna be like plowing my driveway, takes longer to pull the tractor out of the shed than to do the job. I kind of like it that way.

 

i see [working] rear engine ride ons go for under $200 on CL all the time

 

There's no way I would push mow my whole lawn.

I used to have to for a while when my dads tractor blew the transmission. I had a good system though.. i had a 4" wide post 36" into the ground right in the center of the yard, with a rope attached. I tied the rope to the left side of the push mower (self propelled) and started at the outside edge of the fence. Id just start it and clamp my vise grips over the handle, so it would stay on, and in drive. As it would go around, the rope would wrap around the post and the radius would decrease. it took 25 minutes to do that section, and that was 75% of the yard. i would stand on my deck and smoke pot and watch the mower go around in circles by itself. I thought I was awesome.

 

95% of them stop once you join a company then theres the 5% who just dont get it
