636 undertail bar pics!
So im really starting to love this welder I just got--i cut my old crap bar off and put this together real quick. I used a solid 1 5/8" thick cylinder--nearly impossible to bend so i cut it into 5 seperate pieces (took almost 3 hours to cut with a mitre saw) and puzzled them together. My bike scrapes at 3 o clock now its great i tested it out tonight a little doing some coasters around 40 50 mph and just grazing it--its solid--no wobbles and 1,000 times better than a flat bar!!

Looks good for a do it yorself job
as thick as it is you wont need to replace it for a while maybe a powdercoat job will do it more justice

Its diameter is 1 3/8" my bad--still very thick--if you can heat it up and bend it you can save hours of labor but i don't have a good torch or bending equipment to do it.

ya 270 is cheap 4 a welder. TIG's run $2,000--i figure the arc will suffice for now until i pick up a TIG unit.
Arc welder sparks a lot and u get nasty sunburn on any exposed skin in like 5 minutes

looks nice mang!! glad to know it's working for ya.
You know you can get a mig with a bottle at harbor freight or northern for less than $400...I though you at least had a wire feed! My dad might be bringing his old stick welder down in a couple weeks anyway...I need the practice before I buy something new!

looks good dude, as far as welders go, i paid like $350 or something for my hobart mig at farm and fleet, mig seems it takes a bit to learn but is 100 times easier once you get the hang of it, wire feed it the way to go in my opinion, plus you can get gas-less flux cored wire
