race slick
I get them dirt cheap off local racers as takeoffs, can't beat $30 for a 208GP with plenty of street/stunt usage left !
I would never pay fullprice or even buy a new track tire that I'm going to use on the street..
they work well, can't say there are really any advantages stunt wise though...

well, a slick will make your rear tire spin even more when it's cold..
so as far as doing a wheelie before your bike's even started, a racing slick will make your problem WORSE because slicks are only sticky when they are 'warm', when they are cold there almost as bad as touring tires..

I think this has subject has been going around in bike circles since slicks were invented!!
Stunting a slick? Generally got a high pointy profile, which would be pretty horrible unless it was run at real low pressures. Take a bit to warm up and to stay warm. Bler is right on with the wheelspin, not going to make your life very happy there.
On a streetbike, they're crap. A road surface is nothing like a race track. A top notch road tyre (which are pretty much racers now anyway) is far better and they're designed for road use.
In saying that though, I use Michellin Pilots which I get really cheap of a guy that uses them for race tyres. I have no worries with them, but they're still not a slick.
