im going to look at a 2001 xr50 to stunt tomorrow. the guys asking $450.00 but it doesnt have a title. its bone stock and was ridden by a kid so its in perty good shape. what the deal with the title on a 50? do i just run the vin with dmv? other then that, good deal?

 

There will be a vin # stamped on the neck of the frame and also a sticker next to it stating which year/model .

Some states give you an actual title . (like Illinois)

I do belive that titles were given to "off road use olny" motorcycles post 2002.

 

in ny they dont issue titles for dirtbikes. i would just try to run the numbers make sure its not stolen and get a bill of sale

Call your local police "non emergency" phone number . They should be able to tell you what to do

 

i had to do it once, just went to the dmv it was for rm125 and that didnt have a title

 

Mines an 05 and has a title but im in IL and where the state with that whole title rule on everything that has wheels

 

in most states vehicles under 49cc's dont have to be titled

you have to pay sales tax if you want a title

so most people don't get the titles..

 

depends on ur location.. theres a handfull of dudes here rockin the streets on legal fiddys
