Who do you look up to in our sport
Re: Who do you look up to in our sport
I dont think anyone has mentioned Gary Rothwell....Wasn't he from Wayyyy back....As I recall... that was the first Stunt VHS tape I ever got... before i got FTP Vhs (which was my 2nd Stunt Vid).... and I could swear I've had these since the mid 90's. I think the 3rd Vid i got was todd Colbert and Lori ? his GF or wife ?
I also have respect and admiration for all those old schoolers who were riding the big Coplike bikes....and would do "standing pyramids" and some other slow cool stunts.
Oh yea... and all freestyle jumpers....and .... alot of Dirtbike riders (like Mcgrath ....who has some tricks in his bag....that I've never seen anyone else do...... jump an uphill 40 footer at about 30 MPH....and land on the rear wheel....and ride out a balanced wheelie......... and also jump a small table top (maybe 30 feet distance, and about 4 or 5 feet in the air ) and land on the front tire and ride out a stoppie to a halt...VERRRRRY Impressive.
And one more set of Riders.... Pro goped Racers and Freestylers.....everythings scaled down....but it is still about balance and control....And there is some Really aspiring Riders there.....Just look at Brandon Currie. I think all the 2 wheel stuff has crossover potential from genre to genre.
I admire anyone who takes a 2 wheeled vehicle beyond what the manufacturer built it for.....hehe Keep it up ! ALL of You !!

I look up to every mother ***** who straps a helmet on everyday and pushes the limits of all of us who ride. wether it be ac farias or some kid noone ever heard of in some bumfuk town in Mississippi. I mean yea it's cool to respect the og riders because they deserve it first, but what about drew stone and shuggs. Really if drew didn't put all the films out i would have a clue to what kyle was doing down in florida or shuggs for making this site so i can see gorka busting out his 938ft(or whatever) stoppie. also don't forget FOTO for posting the pics on here of everyone so yea there are so many contributors to the sport but if i had to look up to anyone the most in this sport IS THE MOTHERFUKIN SPONSORS WHO HELP ALL OF US. They are the ones for yrs who really ate the **** when this sport was really nothing so my hats off to the Aaron of 905 and Phil from moto heaven for sticking with us and every mom & pop shop who kept me and everyone else rolling.
I think that every pro or even non pro should sit back for a second and think to themselves the next time they see drew, phil, foto or who ever helped them in the past and say " hey man thanks for sticking with us through all the bullshit" because my closing statement on this post will be "THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HELPED RONNIE OF REALITY RACING IN LONG ISLAND NEW YORK OUT"..........

A.C. Farias is a pretty incredable guy in my opinion and not just for the obvious reasons. I've seen how he lives in Spain and I have much respect for the level of his game and the very strange and unique way he plays it. He's 43 years old, loves playing music and chasing girls young enough to be his daughter.
I was just looking at some footage from the practice day at Stuntwars which was totally ****in insane. There was just way too many riders out there at one time and let's just say not all of them were "World Class" riders. Right in the middle of this ****in shitstorm A.C. Farias is tearing it the **** up. Visually it made a strong statement to me about his passion for this "Thing Of Ours".
All the best

Re: Who do you look up to in our sport
I started off only knowing Mana as a Stunter since Im from the same island he's from... So he'd be my main influence, and the one I look up to! His tricks and circle wheelies out do a lot of others... and his out of no where tricks just blows my mind!
Also now that Sam has been riding by his side... I also look up to him because he's been picking it up very very fast! I feel like they are both my teachers.
From there... Darius and his crew has pretty much been one of few i look up to.
So... i'd say...
Mana "The Natural"

Sam

Darius

Joe Brown

Joe Molina

Re: Who do you look up to in our sport
Gotta respect Darius for the way he jumped off the deep end head first into this and reps the game. Drew Stone for his tireless promotion and eye for film. Almost everybody I've actually MET in this game has been really cool. Schwartz for making me feel like it was OK to be a newb and ask questions and not getting tired of my retarded slow learning.
As far as people I love watching ride, E-Dub is just gangsta (and he keeps his lid on), Darius for his innovation and showmanship, Bullo for riding blox not lots!, and Nick Hill for making me think he's might crash every time he rides.

i have to say that i look up to alot of you. But there are a view that i have had the oppurtunity to meet, hang out with, work with and more. The names of the people i look up to have influenced my life one way or another.
Jason Britton. First real star of the stunt world that i got to meet and ride with. Someone i looked up to in the sport.
Darius. his riding was one of a kind. I traveled 5 hours to watch him ride and it was worth it. We then became good friends and alot came with that. more friends.Joe brown, joe molina, bdub, mikeysbf, and more.
Nick Apex. His passion for making us all look good. His comitment to the sport and keeping it core. Not to mention he is a great great person and friend.
Drew stone and Evan Stone. For putting all of you on the map the right way. and they have some great videos out there. all over every sport.
Starboyz. For giving us ALL the opp to ride, do shows, make videos and more. They are some real OG's along with Dmann and Gary Rothwell.
Also the fans. you know who you are...I look up to them the most...they pay our bills, they buy our dvds, they give us great compliments on what ever we do, they keep up with our lives better then us. They show up at shows, and stay all threw the night to watch there favorite rider. to meet you and get a hat, and tell you there favorite part in your video.
and Docy Andrews. Impact Video Owner and president and founder. she open the door for all of us, from dirt to street to snow, to water she is there.
