Alot of it has to do with the rider

Re: why does my chain stretch so easy

It has a lot to do with clutching it up, when I first learned to clutch wheelies I had chain problems....

Don't so much drop the clutch as slip it, which means you let it out fast, but not dropping it.... You're wheelies will stand up alot more predictable that way too

Re: why does my chain stretch so easy

Re: why does my chain stretch so easy

U have to replace the sprockets too when u replace a chain. Putting a new chain on worn out sprockets is like putting new pads on a ground up brake disc. U have to keep it lubed to.

Re: why does my chain stretch so easy

i have had the same chain on my stunt bike for over two years and 20 some thing thousand miles ,drifting , burnouts , clutch wheelies , power wheelies , every thing and my **** still has a ways to go before it's totally stretched out ....

i suspect you may be tightening it too much and not cleaning and lubing it enough

oh and +1 on the changing sprockets with the chain

Re: why does my chain stretch so easy

ive tried both o ring and x ring chains and yea its always got slack. my sprocket is brand new too eith only about 4 thousand on it. i live on a dirt?gravel driveway so it dries out quicker but i lube it that much more. how big of a factor would the lubing be

Re: why does my chain stretch so easy

Don´t tighten it too much and for me the DID ZVM chains are the best and strongest out there!

you also need to clean it. improper maintenance is the most likely culprit.
