Opinion on leaving Helmets

Soooo Guys... Whatsup?
NM, coolcool....

Anywho. Whats YOUR opinion on leaving your helmet with your bike unlocked? have you ever had anyone steal it?

I'll start: I have trouble leaving my helmet just lying with my bike. I live in a safe area, I just can't grow enough ***** to leave it behind. It's either with me or locked to my bike...

I'm slowly starting to leave it more and more depending on the length of time I will be away from it.

Re: Opinion on leaving Helmets

if you got a beat *** stank helmet I wouldnt worry about it. but if you have something nice I would at least lock it under the seat.

Dont worry about what all the bikenight squids are doing and do what makes you comfortable

at bikenights mines locked under the seat, at places like me and the old lady go out to eat helmets go with... I had some douche cut the strap to get my shoei once because it was locked under the seat, so under the seat doesnt make it completely safe

Re: Opinion on leaving Helmets

A really cool guy that always rode with gear had his helmet stolen at a bike night in Tampa recently, and when he was driving home he lost his life in an accident. If he would've had it, he'd be alive.

Never let your helmet out of your sight. That is your lifeline.

damn, died that night! holy cow, i wonder how the dick would feel if he found that out?...

I always carry mine with me, sometimes I'll lock it at bikenight, but if I'm riding with my friends and I run into the gas station for a drink or something I just set it on the mirror and my friends watch it. I never leave it out of sight.

My arai never gets left with the bike. I had my previous arai for 3 years until some ******* thief cut the strap to steal it while I ran into a restaurant for 10 minutes.

Re: Opinion on leaving Helmets

I live in a suburban area where there isn't much crime, so I don't worry about leaving it on my pillion seat when I'm going out places around where I live...but if I go somewhere closer to downtown or where I don't know people, I'll lock it up. (Mine's an HJC, so I'm not too terribly worried about it)

Re: Opinion on leaving Helmets

I always take my helmet. It's only a matter of time before someone comes and steals it. Even if you lock it, if someone wants it, they'll just cut the strap..

The thief didn't make him ride home without a helmet, he chose to ride home because his helmet was stolen...

Mines always either on my head or in my hand. And I live in Texas where nothing happens. But I mainly worried about some jackass messing with or stealing it..

Re: Opinion on leaving Helmets

I left my helmet on my rear peg went into a bar and while I was in there someone pissed in it. I rode home with it on the little helmet lock, got pulled over 3 times on the 5 mile ride home. I explained the situation to every cop, they laughed and then let me go.

+1

I lock mine under the seat and dont worry about it. If someone wants my nasty stank helmet bad enough to cut the strap they can have it.

My only hope is that if they steal it, they will crash and the helmet falls off because its not strapped and they bust their head open.
