New here, + question
New here, + question
So I have a 2006 GSXR750, few mods, jardine exhaust, pc3, k&n filter, -1/+2 sprocket, i want to start stunting but im left with 2 options
1) buy the sprockets, cages, etc for this bike and just switch them out when i know im going riding the next week or whenever, (sprockets dont take that long to switch out, so i couldnt see it being that much of a hassle)
or 2)
buy a damaged bike for a grand or 2 and make that into a stunt bike
i just dont have the extra money kicking around for a stunt bike, plus id have to still buy the cages and sprockets for that bike.
i dunno, you guys know more about it than me, so opinions help

Re: New here, + question
haha well thats what i thought cages were for, i just bought new plastics too
'cheap' stunt bikes here are like 4 5 grand
and im looking for one in more of the 1000-2000 range.
i dunno maybe im looking too cheap but we get snow 6 out of the 12 months, but i enjoy just riding sometimes too. so i dunno whats best

Re: New here, + question
yeah id have the chains for both sprockets as well so i could just put whichever chain i need on, or 2 depending how big of a sprocket i get lol

Re: New here, + question
yeah when i bought my new sprocket i got a chain as well, i think it was a...125 link? in any case i had to cut a few links off, its one of those clips for the master links so if i had a separate chain for both sprockets it'd be a piece of cake to put them back on. but what sprocket would i even go with, 54?
Re: New here, + question
i run 16/60 on my 750 stunt, and just toss plastics on it when i wanna ride the street with my boys. works fine.... no freeway though
Re: New here, + question
would a 150 link chain and a 54 tooth sprocket work? or should i go bigger?

They dont seem to have my year...

Re: New here, + question
i usually stay in the city anyway, and i guess it would work as a governor for me since i dont want to wheelie around cops so ill stay like 60 kph in the city haha, i just havent ridden a bike with a sprocket like that, so i dont know how street managability would be.

Re: New here, + question
Cages won't keep your bike mint. They just keep it running most of the time so you can keep trying. 1-2K isn't going to get you a bike anywhere. 3500-4500 is about average for a stunt bike. You can't be a stunter unless you **** up your bike. Everyone wants the best of both worlds. They want to be a stunter, but don't want to **** up their bike learning. So it's like I always say "sack up and quit being a *****, or go back to bike night with the other squids".
Re: New here, + question
yeah, it would be nice to keep our stuff minty. but call motoheaven and talk to them, im sure their support guys will find something that works for you.
